Weekly classes with Melanie and Marco , included in the training, will allow you to deepen your practice and process the material over time. Spend two hours/week practicing and experiencing how they use their own styles to apply principles of Katonah Yoga into fluid, rigorous and intelligent movement.

Whether you are a student or teacher, from beginner to advanced, teaching for one year or twenty, this course will serve as a way to break down the key concepts of Katonah Yoga and learn how to apply them to your life as a student and/or teacher.

  • The art of proportions and measuring up

  • To use your body as origami so that each posture is a portal to glands and organs

  • To understand what it means to find stability in mobility and to improve your range of motion

  • To understand the concepts of center and circumference

  • To integrate pranayama and meditations into your practice that you can use to cleanse, activate or calm your body, mind and spirit

  • To develop metaphorical language to enrich your practice and teachings with new insights

About Marco Migliavacca & Melanie Hyman:

Nevine’s extraordinary ability to forge connections brought Melanie and Marco together. They had an immediate spark and desire to create a new program dedicated to Katonah Yoga foundations, with the intention of offering a basic framework for understanding how to decode and personally use all the material this wonderful method offers.

Melanie and Marco are both seasoned yoga practitioners, each with over two decades of experience in various forms of yoga including Astanga, Bikram, Yin, Jivamukti and Vinyasa, but when they each met Nevine Michaan and discovered Katonah Yoga, they knew they had found their true calling.

Under the guidance of Nevine, Melanie and Marco have delved deep into the transformative practice of Katonah Yoga. The wisdom they have gained from their close and personal association with Nevine has profoundly influenced their lives.

Melanie and Marco are driven by a common goal-to spread the teachings of Nevine Michaan and Katonah Yoga worldwide. Their shared mission is to make this powerful yoga practice accessible to all, so that everyone can have the opportunity to experience the immense potential that this practice offers.
