Shape-Shifting: A 5hr Pre + Postnatal Katonah Yoga Training

From pregnancy through the birth and into motherhood, women transform appreciably. As time unfolds, the body grows and contracts, the focus shifts and energy becomes a resource to share.
Space needs to be well adjusted, time management becomes inevitable. The mother’s wellbeing is the centerpiece of a family’s system and deserves great attention. If she thrives, everyone around her can thrive too.
Reni will lead you through a Katonah Yoga framed practice for the unfolding stages of pregnancy and post-partum, offering resources and techniques to be incorporated in an individual practice, private or group classes.
This training is designed for women who are ready to conceive, expecting, have already given birth, for their caregivers, yoga teachers, doulas and bodyworkers.
We will cover
Exemplary prenatal and postnatal yoga practices to support a shape-shifting body and mind
Restorative poses and breath practices
Prop set-ups and adjusts for releasing, healing and energizing the body
Important precautions and tips for yoga teachers and other supporters
Mapping the journey of motherhood using the framework of the Magic Square
The importance of incorporating a yoga practice in (early) motherhood and beyond: time and space management within family / work life
Senses and imaginative work: scent, sound and meditation for creating life and regenerating fully
Includes a virtual manual to guide the process (‘A Heroine’s Journey’ calendar)
5 Hours bankable toward your Katonah Yoga® Certification.This training is facilitated by Reni Bickel, experienced Katonah Yoga teacher, dedicated student and mother of two. She has previously designed and taught several pre/postnatal yoga trainings for Katonah Yoga Center and The Studio, always drawing from her own experience and teaching her students.
