Solstice In Stillness: A 2 Hour Restorative Yoga Workshop
Friday December 22nd
6-8pm EST
Tap into the quiet of the season. Go inward. Settle into stillness.
This 2 hour restorative workshop aligned with the winter solstice is designed to bring you into the present and rest into the container of winter. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is associated with yin - resting, taking it slow, connecting to the inner self, reflection. We’ll use this time to rest and reflect, to store up to restore, just as trees go dormant in winter to conserve nutrients and restructure themselves at a cellular level to adapt and survive in order to re-energize and reemerge in the spring.
We’ll use yoga blocks, bolsters, blankets, chairs, and whatever you have on hand (books, couch cushions, etc.) to create a supported, restful, and well-scaffolded practice.
Open to everyone - all levels, all bodies, teachers and students and everyone in between - who is looking to cultivate calm.
Alice York is a teacher of Katonah Yoga with a particular focus in modalities and practices dedicated towards rest and recovery. Based in Chicago, Alice is dedicated to fostering a sense of joy in movement, inclusivity, and levity in her classes. She uses her 500+ hours of training to design class sequences that are always creative and class experiences that make you feel supported, aligned, and grounded.
