Support to Soothe: A 10hr Restorative Yoga Training with Alice York

$150.00

Friday January 17th

10:30a-1:30p EST

Saturday January 18th + Sunday January 19th

10:00a - 1:30p

Take a deep dive into restorative yoga with Alice York in this 10 hour training.

Over 3 days, you’ll organize the body using a variety of props, meditate to get grounded and root down, and utilize breathing techniques to calm the mind and body.

In addition to practicing the poses and embodying the material, you’ll explore the history, theory, and science behind the practice, as well as sequencing a restorative experience, whether to build or expand your own home practice or to share with your own students and community.

Through this training, you’ll be given tools to better pause into the present moment; down-regulate the nervous system; introspect, reflect, and spark insight; and support the body with longevity and wholeness in mind.

What to expect:

  • How to use props to scaffold the body and create a nourishing and nurturing restorative yoga practice, whether at home using sofa cushions or in studio with blocks and bolsters

  • An examination of the neurological and physiological benefits of a restorative yoga practice

  • Looking at the practice not just simply as a way to relax but rather to restore and reform the body

  • Lots of meditation, metaphor, and theory

  • Creating and sequencing, both for a personal practice and to lead a group or private session

  • Pranayama! Using the breath as part of your toolkit

  • How to support injury, pre- and post-natal bodies, and other considerations within the practice

  • Time for inquiry, to go inward, and capture insights and ideas

Open to all!
