The Collective - An Online Katonah Yoga Summit

Join us for 2 full days of bite size classes offered from Katonah Yoga teachers from around the world. The Collective will weave community and offer a variety of ways to play with the Katonah Yoga material.
Surf the line up as you wish. Take all the classes on the schedule or take just the ones that interest you most! Jump in and out of any class you wish over the duration of the 2 days.
Offerings will include theory, movement, breath, sound, restorative, discussion and props as well as a Meet + Greet time slot for students and teachers to casually connect.
Recordings will be available for one month to all participants

7am EST (40m) - Caffe Italiano w Marco Migliavacca
As a ritual, we’ll begin by isolating the movement of the individual joints to prepare all the ingredients and have conscious access to the different joint spaces. In this way we will offer each part its own caffeine boost, hydration, and lubrication. Then we will blend all the parts together to achieve a gentle and energetic morning practice.

8am EST (30m) - Katonah Slow Flow w Gillian Wagner
The combination of movements may at first seem new but as they get repeated, like a salutation, eventually the breath can be linked with the practice and the whole effect becomes a moving meditation.
9:30am EST (45m) - Take Care w Chelsey Forbes
Hatha, vinyasa and Katonah Yoga with nods to everything in between. Traditional ethics but at the rave. Esoteric dialogue, sutras, pranayama, asana, inversions and lots of dogs! When the practice becomes spherical joy is obtained.
11am EST (60m) - Prop Shop: Chairs + Poles w Mary Dana Abbott
In this class will explore the power of mediating polarities. Utilizing the Magic Square as our guide, and props as our tools, we will play with familiar shapes in different ways to facilitate a nurturing, spherical and insightful practice.
we’ll use a Dowel or a Pole (could use a broomstick instead), 2 Blankets or towels, 1 Yoga mat, Yoga chair or any chair without arms

A casual time slot to meet one another and connect.

Explore the grid and use diagonals and cross referencing to better understand center and how to find it. Learn to organize your poses in order to gain stability, utilize your ability, and find your vision!
1:30pm EST (15m) - Pranayama Pick-Me-Up w Olivia Falcon
A quick and doable breath practice to get you motivated and moving no matter where you are in your day. We’ll use one block, cushion or a chair to sit on
2pm EST (30m) - Props + Flow w Francesca Bove
A vinyasa practice inspired and rooted from the structure and magic teachings of Katonah Yoga. Learn how to dance through asana with the use of props, music and inversions. Once you have the map, you can get to where you're going in many different ways!
3pm EST (30m) - Magic Square Theory w Nevine Michaan
Learn the architecture of the body through the blueprint of the enneagon, using the 3x3 magic square as the template. Break number codes, gender codes and the constructs of polarity and trinity. Engage your imagination in the design of form.
4pm EST (45m) - Restorative for Thyroid w Abigail Stevenson
Our thyroid acts as the funnel between the head and the heart and represents our capacity for self expression. In this class, we’ll explore this dialogue of volume, clear out some stagnation with pranayama, and work to recalibrate the thyroid and adrenals through deeper throat openers via restorative yoga.

Teaching in NYC, I would jokingly call King of the Mountain the "Waiting for the G Train" pose. How can we change it from a dreadful 5 minutes to the most joyful 5 minutes? How do we do this without attracting unwanted attention? The class will introduce different hand variations and different poses and forms to play with as we "Wait for the G train". The goal is for people to find creative ways to have and teach a joyful practice.

In this express class, we will break down the science behind what happens when you take a breath, what happens when you manipulate the breath and how that affects the body as a whole.
We will then have the opportunity to play with the breath under more than just the reference of metaphor.
11am EST (30m) - Initiation of the Wild Psyche w Sarah Kanady
An exploration of the innate wild psyche that lives within each of us. Using the Magic Square as our guide, we will travel our internal landscape through meditative practice, breath work, writing prompts, and discussion. Tending the soils of our wild psyche to help us recognize its full potential.

Explore your internal landscape through guided meditation using various instruments. We will travel through three floors of the house, entering through the door of the ear, an active listening practice.

Organizing one’s sphere of influence and the perfect shape of integrity, the mind as the thread.

A 45 min asana/pranayama practice to explore personal measure and formal forms to become spherical.
2pm EST (30m) - Calming Cosmic Orbit w Morgan Rose
A Katonah Restorative practice and shamanic journey
3pm EST (60m) - Building a Resilient + Reliable Body w David Regelin
This class will be an introduction to how to develop a home, body weight based strength practice that will reinforce your flexibility with strength and resilience.
